Kampala city, located in the North of lake Victoria and is the Capital city of Uganda. More than 3.5 million people live in the city, this is the capital city of the Pearl of Africa, Uganda

Restaurants
Tourist oriented hotels and restaurants serve good Western style meals, while a wide range of foreign retaurants being available in the capital and some large towns. Local restaurants serve Uganda dishes, typically Matooke (cooked banana) or Posho (a Stiff Maize or Millet Porridge) Eastern stew.

TRAVEL TIPS TO UGANDA
First before travelling to Uganda you need to acquire thee items below;
-A valid travel document.
-A visa is required. You acquire it from a Ugandan Mission in your country or on Arrival at the Airport.
-Carry important documents and medication in your hand baggage.
-Keep an eye on your personal belongings; never leave your baggage unattended at airport.
Driving
Driving on the left side, visitors without experience of African roads are advised to organize a vehicle with a driver rather than self-drive.

Health
You are advised to take anti-malaria medication before departure and carry mosquito repellents. Use mosquito nets as a precaution. All hotels rooms in Uganda are equipped with mosquito nets
Money
The unit currency is the Uganda shilling in denominations of 50,100,200,500 (coins) while paper notes are 1000,5000,10000, 20,000 and 50,000. The US dollar is traditionally the hard bureau to charge in all large towns, but traveler’s cheques are not widely accepted outside Kampala. Local currency can be drawn against VISA and other major credit cards at selected ATMs in Kampala, at Entebbe International Airport and few other large Towns. Uganda has many forex beau rue and banks that offer international banking services.
